USA Online Colleges

Online college degrees are a nice addition to your resume' but the kind of money involved you should consider a USA school that offers classes both on line and on campus or be prepared to do the legwork to make certain the college you choose doesn't end up becoming that dead-beat dad, lazy unemployable spouse or serious drug addiction that you were smart enough to avoid. Because my research has shown me that choosing a college degree, especially on line, is not a sport for the feint of heart.

You may have joined me from one of the forums where there was quite a fight between the people passionate about having spent $30,000 or $40,000 or more and having only the payments and a worthless degree to show for it (their stance) versus the happy student who is now making a ton of money at a prestigious job. Did you note that the complaints were basically the same negative experience? That the bigger the thread became the more the side backing the school increased? Has anybody questioned the motive for sticking up for a school that almost everybody agrees is high priced if nothing else?

 After considerable research and reading what is ultimately a combination of sour grapes and legitimate concerns I have concluded that online education is harder than it sounds due to a number of things but that the degree is sound if it comes from a school listed on this site. I do hasten to add that you'd better have the passion and desire to achieve your goals when choosing an online college in the USA.

Remember you WILL pay back all student loans with interest. Its just a matter of how much and when and whether it will be an easy to make payment (because you have a better paying job and therefore can easily make your payments on time) or one that takes every penny of your money formerly used for socializing, entertainment, laundry and half the month's food (because you're paying off the loans while still stuck in the same old job because you couldn't pass the courses). Think about that because its a pretty good guestimate of what life would be like earning $10 an hour and having the government take their "interest" out of your paycheck every week before you can even get the check. *Also note that garnishment in most instances will only take the amount of interest owed on the principal which means you'd be paying the rest of your life. People falling into this category are dubbed as being "debt slaves" because they are caught in a never-ending cycle of garnishment = having to leave that job to find one that isn't being garnished + never having a job that pays enough to allow you to pay-off those student loans because you're constantly being forced to find new employment.

Accelerated Online College Courses

Do not forget that when you sign up for an accelerated rate type of degree program that it will be just that: and that you won't have the teacher to answer all your questions and that these classes will come and go quickly and though they are flexible schedule in respect to you can log in at any time ... they do still have deadlines which if not met even a few times ... the college will fail you to make room for more or if they have extra space then you may sail through the course without effort (or learning anything) because they want to milk your loan for another semester. After that it will largely be whether you were able to turn things around (which statistics say you will not be able to salvage your education). This is one area that seems all logic is denied except if there is a financial incentive involved. Then it often makes perfect sense.

Some colleges that are under the gun to trim back their over-populated classes will look for nearly any reason to thin the herd while other situations the college may do all it can to drag the student through the course because they want to milk that government backed student loan for another semester of course tuition.
