A high school student named Kenton Weyant is using knowledge gained from an online college class to redesign a software program for J. Everett Light Career Center that allows students to track hours they’ve worked, tests completed and other scheduled events.
This outstanding young man is saving the company near $50,000 which is what it would have cost them to have bought similar software.
Kenton has also participated in a combination of courses that can earn dual high school and college credits of which Purdue University in Indianapolis was a part .. Kenton plans to attend Purdue University when the time comes.
Having chosen to take a very tough course that many college students struggle with finding success .. Kenton earned an “A” and so impressed his instructor Ted Reasoner that he personally traveled to meet and congratulate this impressive young high school student.
